From the written family history
Peter’s biography dates his youngest son’s birth to June 9, 1906, near Platteville, Colorado. Carl grew up after the death of his older brother George Karl. In 1931, his parents purchased a filling station, garage and lunchroom which Carl operated for them.
He had a son, George, from his first marriage to Matilda, and later married Doris Ames. Peter’s family account lists six children with Doris: Richard, Shirley, Doris Ann, Joanne, Mary Lou and Carla. Carl died on February 27, 1985.

Places in a Life
Follow recorded birthplaces and homes through the years. Numbers connect the map to dated records; gold marks a birthplace. Markers show approximate towns or regions, not exact houses. A recorded year does not establish an uninterrupted stay.
