From Vadsø to a home of his own
Andreas Severin Harjo was born in Vadsø on 6 November 1895. By the 1910 census, he was working on a farm at Masjoknes, in the household of Johan A. Salomonsen and Mathilde Danielsen.
On 1 January 1915, Andreas married Sofie Magdalene Salomonsen in Sør-Varanger. The marriage entry places him in Kirkenes. Five years later, the couple were living at Solheim in Tana, where Andreas worked as a fisherman.
Their 1920 household also included Randi Augusta Myreng, described in the census as a foster daughter. That small entry is a reminder that family connections can reach beyond the relationships shown in a simple family tree.
